Opportunity for a talented DESIGN LEAD to join our team.

At Mallet Design Build, our design office works closely with the construction team to develop comprehensive design for our clients on a variety of residential, and commercial projects. Our Design Leads work closely with the Senior Architect and Principal to develop design projects. As a Design Lead, you will provide design and project management leadership and delegate work to Design Staff on your projects. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the management and creation of Design/Construction Documents, Design Packages, and general support of the Design Department. Our office is a fun, fast-paced, open environment. We look for candidates with great communication skills and the ability to self-manage. Potential team members should have a great personality, good sense of humor, interest in company socializing, and a desire to create awesome design build projects.

Our office is located one block away from the SODO light rail stop. We are a studio full of fun people who enjoy laughter, hard work, multi-tasking, dogs, music, collaboration, and great design.

Compensation dependent on experience.

Qualifications

  • B.Arch, M.Arch degree or equivalent.
  • 4‐8 years of experience, post‐degree, in Architecture or a related field.
  • Strong ability to lead a project team, maintain project schedules, and maintain project budgets.
  • Proficient in managing the coordination of client, staff, and sub‐consultants on multiple projects.
  • Self‐motivated work ethic and able to self‐manage tasks on multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in coordinating sub‐consultants and City/State Agencies.
  • Experience in Seattle codes and permitting.
  • Commercial, retail, restaurant, T.I., and single-family residential experience preferred.
  • Strong graphic and free‐hand sketching ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to clearly and competently communicate design ideas.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Project, Excel and proven ability to learn new software programs.
  • Ability to work productively in an open office environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Project, Excel and proven ability to learn new software programs.
